The Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) is soliciting grant applications for the calendar year 2025.
A grant sum will be awarded for up to a two-year period, at a maximum of up to $30,000 per year. CBTF accepts
grant applications from everywhere in the greater United States. Grant applications may be submitted from researchers
that have not received funding from the NIH for the proposed study. All proposed studies must have the approval of the
proposing institution’s Institutional Review Board (if appropriate) at the time of funding.
Grants are evaluated in the context of their potential to:
- Improve our understanding of the biology of pediatric brain tumors.
- Improve the treatment of childhood brain tumors.
- Reduce or ameliorate tumor or treatment related sequelae.
- Heighten public awareness of childhood tumors and
- Improve the lives of children with brain tumors and their families.
Each applicant must include the following:

Although Indirect Costs are not encouraged, we allow up to 10%. Travel costs are not permitted.

Grant proposals are not to exceed 5 pages exclusive of the Biosketch, cover letter, Key Personnel at
Institution, Detailed Budget, and CBTF’s application Face Page. Those grant proposals exceeding the 5-page
limit will not be reviewed. Font size must be 10-point, no less and appropriately spaced.
Grants applications through the online process and must be received before or on the deadline date of
Monday, March 17, 2025. Extensions will not be permitted under any circumstances. Any online grant
process will automatically close on the deadline date.
CBTF’s Medical/Scientific Advisory Board evaluates each application and recommendations are presented to CBTF’s Board of Directors. CBTF’s Board of Directors will determine which proposals are funded. Notification of grant awards will be announced by Wednesday, July 16, 2025. All applicants will be contacted with the final decision.
Grant awardees will be required to produce an annual progress report, as well as a statement from the institutional grants office verifying the receipt and use of funds (a requirement of the Internal Revenue Service).
Two grants will be awarded this year. The following outlines the specifics for the request for applications.
Our grant request applies to all pediatric brain tumors, for scientific studies for up to a two-year maximum for $30,000 for each year, totaling a maximum of $60,000.
All applicants must follow the criteria listed in this document for all proposed studies.
