Welcome to Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center Pediatric Oncology Clinical Research Training Program (POCRTP).
The K12 Faculty Fellowship provides successful applicants with at least 75% research effort for up to 3 years, effective July 01, 2025. We are now accepting applications for this prestigious program that is specifically designed to train pediatric oncologists in patient-oriented clinical/translational research. Please feel free to encourage and share this opportunity with junior faculty or graduating fellows who wish to pursue a career in clinical translational research.
The application period runs from August 15, 2024 through October 30, 2024.

- Personal Statement: A statement of your previous experiences, why you are pursuing the K12, and how it help you achieve your long-term career goals. (1 page, maximum)
- Brief Research Plan: A statement of your interest in clinical research with a focus on one of the specialty tracks (Epidemiology and Survivorship, Genomics and Precision Medicine or Immunology and Cell Therapy) (2 pages, maximum – references, no limit)
- A full curriculum vitae (no page limit)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation
- Successful completion of a three-year GME-accredited pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship training program by July 01, 2025.
- Board certified or board eligible in pediatric hematology-oncology
- U.S. citizens or non-citizen nationals of the U.S. or individuals who may be lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence
Applicants may be contacted for an interview or a formal presentation with a subset of members from the POCRTP Internal Advisory Committee or K12 faculty mentors.
Successful candidates will be appointed as a fulltime faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine with 75% of their professional effort allocated to research and career development and the remaining 25% as hematology/oncology clinical service.
Awardees will receive full salary support, in addition to funds for supplies and travel. Applications will be reviewed by the Advisory Committee and the individuals selected will be notified around December 2024.
