CIBR Center for Computational and Integrative Biomedical Research Seed Grants
The Computational and Integrative Biomedical Research (CIBR) Center is pleased to announce Seed Grant Awards sponsored by Baylor College of Medicine.

The purpose of these awards is to support the mission of the CIBR Center by fostering novel collaborations that aim to bridge the translational gap from data to models, and from models to drug discovery and personalized therapy. The CIBR Center awards aim specifically to bring together research questions and methods from two or more labs that include substantive new analytical, statistical, or computational components. Successful proposals should aim to generate preliminary data leading to new R01 submissions by the following October.

Six awards will be funded at $15,000 each in unrestricted funds.

  • The awards are open to all BCM faculty members; adjunct faculty, research faculty and instructors are eligible as collaborators. Previous awardees may reapply for up to a maximum of 4 years of funding on the same project; or they may apply for a new project.
  • Applicants should be prepared to serve as reviewers if requested.
  • Reviews will be conducted through November and awards announced in December. All awarded funds must be spent by June 30, 2015. RO1 proposals should be submitted by October 2015 with terminal reports to CIBR due in December 2015.

  • The application review and selection process will be overseen by members of the CIBR faculty and appropriate BCM scientists.

  • Applications will be scored on a 1-9 NIH scale in the following categories: Significance, Innovation, Feasibility, Collaboration, and Computation.

    Documents must be uploaded separately.
